Shannon Ayres is a Northern Virginia-based photographer specializing in reportage, portraiture and advertising projects.

Clients include Washingtonian magazine, Arlington magazine, Middleburg Life magazine, Northern Virginia magazine, USA Today magazine, Virginia Business magazine, and Architect magazine.

He has taught at the Smithsonian Resident Associates, Maine Media Workshops and the Academy of Art University. He has designed and written over 20 accredited graduate-level classes in photography.

He lives in Reston, Virginia with his wife Amy, two teenage daughters and an incorrigible Labrador retriever. In addition to photography, he loves cooking and playing the mandolin.
